Gzb board to pay ₹1.1 crore for Metro projects
GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority board on Tuesday cleared a proposal to pay Rs 1.1 crore to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for a detailed project report (DPR) on extending two metro routes.

The two Metro extensions have been proposed from Sector 62 in Noida to Indirapuram in Ghaziabad and from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar.
Officials said the release of funds for the detailed project report was approved during the infrastructure development funds meeting held in Meerut last week.
“DMRC will prepare the report for the two extensions. Both of these will pass through the Mohan Nagar Metro station, making it a big interchange hub. DMRC will also take into consideration the regional rapid transit system route that runs over the Link Road near Vasundhara. They will also have to take into consideration the pending issues pertaining to the CISF (NH-24) road, where the widening of NH-24 is proposed. The metro route will extend from Sector 62 of Noida over NH-24 to Indirapuram,” Vijay Kumar Yadav, vice-chairman of GDA, said.
The extension from Vaishali to Mohan Nagar has a proposed transit route of around five kilometres while the other extension, from Indirapuram to Mohan Nagar, will be around four-and-a-half kilometers long.
The proposal for extending both the routes towards Mohan Nagar to make it a major interchange hub was cleared during the last board meeting of the authority in April.
The Mohan Nagar Metro station is also a proposed stop on the under-construction 9.41km extension from Dilshad Garden to New bus stand in Ghaziabad.
“The issue is pending at the state level. Other departments will have to contribute their respective share towards construction costs. In any case, we will not allow the project to hit a roadblock due to paucity of funds,” Yadav said.
In December 2014, the total cost of the 9.41km link was revised and increased by Rs 440 crore, to a total of Rs 2,210 crore.
