NEW DELHI: The assembly on Monday constituted a special inquiry committee to probe into alleged irregularities and corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and Delhi Hockey — agencies that administer cricket and hockey in Delhi.

The nine-member committee was formed after the assembly adopted a resolution moved by AAP legislator Som Dutt. All members are from AAP as BJP MLA Jagdish Pradhan opted out.
The panel has a mandate to identify any wrongdoing in sports bodies between January 1, 1992, and May 31, 2016, and to fix responsibility, and will submit its report before the assembly in its next session.
The move comes about six months after the Arvind Kejriwal government appointed an inquiry panel under senior advocate Gopal Subramanium. The commission, however, failed to initiate probe as it was declared null and void by the Centre.
CNG FITNESS SCAM
The Delhi assembly also formed a nine-member special inquiry committee to probe the alleged scam involving CNG fitness certificates to vehicles, where several key officials from the previous Sheila Dikshit government were under the scanner.
