NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal received greetings on his 48th birthday from several political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, on Tuesday.

“Birthday greetings to Delhi CM @ArvindKejriwal. I pray for his long life and good health (sic),” Modi tweeted. “Thank u so much sir (sic),” responded Kejriwal.

Congress veteran Sheila Dikshit, who has recently joined the social media platform, took to Twitter to wish the Aam Aadmi Party chief. Kejriwal thanked her as well for the wishes.

The pleasantries shared by these leaders are contrary to the kind of engagements these leaders have had in the past. The AAP leader has been sharp in attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past and has even courted controversy due to the choice of his words against Modi.

Following the CBI raid in the office of his principal secretary, Kejriwal had called Modi a ‘psychopath’ and ‘coward’.

Last month, Kejriwal targeted the Prime Minister saying that the PM “could even get him killed”.

In the debut election of AAP in 2013, Kejriwal had led the election campaign for his party against the then government of Sheila Dikshit, often accusing the Congress veteran of being involved in corruption.

The Delhi government recently registered a complaint against Dikshit in the ACB in connection with an alleged tanker scam during her regime.
