Delhi Transport Corporation’s (DTC) latest acquisition, about 25 AC and 75 non-AC buses, will be inducted into the fleet on October 2.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit will flag off these buses from India Gate.

Hundred new low-floor buses reached Delhi in September.

After fitness tests and other formalities like registration, insurance and permits, these buses are ready to run on the city roads.

According to senior DTC officials, these buses will ply in Dwarka and in East Delhi.

“We will start a shuttle service in Dwarka from October 2,” a senior DTC official said.

Some of the new buses will be put on the new East Delhi Mudrika service, which will also be launched on October 2.

By March 31, 2010, Delhi will have 3125 low-floor buses.
