2-phase elections in Gujarat, 1 for Himachal Pradesh
The assembly polls in Gujarat will take place in two-phases and Himachal Pradesh elections will conclude in a single day. While polls in Himachal Pradesh will take place in the first week of November, Gujarat will go to the polls in the second half of November.

The Election Commission of India will announce the poll dates for the two states on Wednesday (October 3).
The gap between the elections in the two states is to ensure availability of security forces and also because many parts of Himachal Pradesh face severe winter during the month.
While the five-year term of the Himachal Pradesh assembly expires on January 10, that of Gujarat ends on January 18. Reports said about 90,000 police personnel will be deployed in Gujarat — a sensitive state from the point of view of law and order.
