A 23-year-old man allegedly shot dead his father inside his house in the Garhi Jassi area of Loni in Ghaziabad on Friday following frequent altercations over the victim's drinking habits, the police said.

Parvinder Pal shot his father Kunwar Pal (56) from point blank with a country-made pistol. “The victims was rushed to GTB hospital in Delhi where he was declared brought-dead," said a police official. Parvinder was arrested after he surrendered before the police. A murder case has been lodged.
