25-year-old drugged, raped by boyfriend, two others in South Delhi

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by her boyfriend and two of his friends in south Delhi’s Rangpuri area on Friday. The police arrested the woman’s boyfriend and are currently on the lookout for his friends.

The woman said in a statement that her boyfriend had lured her to his house on the pretext of celebrating Valentine’s Day together. On reaching his house, she found two other men waiting there.

Police officials claim the woman alleged that the men were her boyfriend’s friends, who spiked her drink with sedatives and then raped her.

“She claimed that while talking to them, she was offered a drink after which she lost consciousness. She has alleged that they had mixed a sedative in her drink. Further, she has said that taking advantage of her condition, all three men took turns to rape her,” said a police official.

After gaining consciousness, the woman went back to her house and narrated the entire incident to her parents, who then alerted the police.

The woman’s boyfriend, Amit, was arrested from his house on Friday, while the others accused are currently absconding.

“Amit is employed at a private firm and lives in the same locality as the girl. The incident was reported around 10pm after the woman informed her parents about the incident,” said a police official.

As per police officials the woman was taken to a hospital and a medical examination confirmed rape.

Sources claim that the woman and Amit were in a relationship since the past one year. “In her complaint the woman has alleged that Amit had promised to marry her,” the official added.

The police have registered a case of rape at the Vasant Kunj (south) police station and are currently on the lookout for the other two who have been on the run since the incident.
