Special Judge OP Saini sought the file after DoT Under Secretary SP Sharma submitted the file had gone missing and he needed a week's time to trace the same.

"SP Sharma, Under Secretary (DoT), is also present and submits that file number 9-1/2009-RESTG is not readily traceable as the same has been misplaced. He submits that he may be granted one week's time either for producing the file or a reconstructed copy thereof.

"Prayer allowed. He is directed to either produce the original file or a reconstructed one within a week," the judge said.

The department, however, produced another related to the statement by a prosecution witness and former Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman Nripendra Mishra before the court on Wednesday.
