4 held for duping unemployed youth

Four people belonging to an interstate gang of cheats have been arrested for allegedly duping unemployed youth on the pretext of providing jobs in Railways after taking money from them, police said on Saturday.

Four people belonging to an interstate gang of cheats have been arrested for allegedly duping unemployed youth on the pretext of providing jobs in Railways after taking money from them, police said on Saturday.

The kingpin of the gang, Yashpal Sharma alias Yagdutt Sharma from Rohtak, and his associate Namo Narain Singh were arrested on the complaint of one Rajesh Kumar of Himachal Pradesh.

Two of their associates, Manoj Gupta and Surender Pratap Pandey, were also arrested.

Police said Sharma and his accomplices had duped hundreds of unemployed, gullible youths from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, HP and J&K.

"They had amassed close to R2 crore by way of cheating,” Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP crime and railways said.
