According to the Tourism Ministry's data, the foreign tourist arrivals at Delhi airport during October 1 to 14 stood at 75,606.
The ministry had earlier projected that about one lakh foreign tourists would visit the capital during the Games.
"The bad publicity coupled with security threat perception before the Games affected the arrivals of tourists," sources in the ministry said.
On an average about 5,000 to 6,000 foreign tourists arrived daily at Delhi airport during the Games.
While 7,527 foreign tourists landed at Delhi airport on October 2, maximum during the Games, the arrivals decreased to 4,520 on October 5, according to the data.
