Admission scam: college staffer among 4 arrested

Four more persons, including a former and a present student of Ramjas College, Delhi University, have been arrested by the north Delhi Police in connection with the admission scam.

Four more persons, including a former and a present student of Ramjas College, Delhi University, have been arrested by the north Delhi Police in connection with the admission scam.

The other two arrested persons include a staff member of the college and a graduate from Aurobindo College. With this, the total number of arrests made in the admission scam case had gone up to 15, police said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Kuldeep Khapara, a former student of Ramjas College, and Rajesh Singh, an office assistant at the same college.

Police said Khapara, who was a student of Ramjas College from 2004 to 2008, had helped a candidate get admission in the college using a forged marksheet. Singh had helped him in his illegal work, said a senior police officer.

IB Rani, deputy commissioner of police (north), said the other two accused, identified as Vardhan Choudhary, a final year student of Ramjas College, and Ashwini Rajput, a graduate from Aurobindo College, have been arrested in another case registered in the admission scam. Further investigation in the case are on, the police added.
