“The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.5 degrees Celsius. There will be a partly cloudy sky in the day and we also expect a dust storm and thundershowers later today. This could bring down the temperature slightly,” an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 41 degrees Celsius, the official added.

On Sunday, the IMD recorded one of the season's hottest days as the minimum temperature recorded an all time high. The maximum soared to 43 degrees Celsius and at 30.6 degrees Celsius, 10 degrees above average, the mercury levels at the lower end broke a 40-year record, officials said.
