AK Seth takes over as cabinet secretary
Ajit Kumar Seth, a 1974-batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre, assumed charge as the new cabinet secretary on Monday.

Ajit Kumar Seth, a 1974-batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre, assumed charge as the new cabinet secretary on Monday.
The 59-year old Seth, who will head Cabinet Secretariat the agency which coordinates functions among various union ministries, will have a fixed tenure of two years.
He replaced KM Chandrasekhar who retired on Monday after serving in the post for four years, including two extensions.
Seth was earlier OSD in the Cabinet Secretariat. He has also been secretary (coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat and has served in different capacities at the Centre as well as in states.
