All steps taken to get Sarabjeet back, says PM

India is letting no stone unturned to get Sarabjeet Singh back from Pakistan, Manmohan tells a delegation from Punjab.

India has taken all the essential steps to secure the release of Sarabjeet Singh who is on death row in Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday told a delegation of leaders from Punjab.

"A delegation of leaders from Punjab met the Prime Minister. The issue of Sarabjeet Singh was prominently raised by the delegation and they apprised him of the unanimous resolution passed by the Assembly for his release," AICC spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters here.

"The Prime Minister told the delegation that whatever steps are essential and necessary have already been taken by the Government of India to try and ensure that we can secure the release of Sarabjeet Singh on humanitarian grounds," he said.
