Nupur Talwar's bail plea was today rejected by the Allahabad High Court, causing a huge setback to the dentist who is facing trial in the murder of her 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj.
The Allahabad High Court on Thursday rejected the bail application of Dr Nupur Talwar, one of the accused in the sensational Aarushi Talwar-Hemraj Banjade murder case. Her husband Dr Rajesh Talwar too is an accused in the case, Justice Arvind Kumar Tripathi passed the order after hearing the arguments of her counsel VP Srivastav and CBI counsel counsel Anurag Khanna.

During the arguments, Nupur's counsel submitted that the CBI had in its closure report given a clean chit to the applicant. The fact there was no evidence that an outsider had entered the home of the doctor couple that fateful day has been cited as the only reason for their alleged involvement, he said.
He also said that there were many inconsistencies in the CBI investigation.
Earlier, Ghaziabad's Special Judge too had rejected Nupur's bail application on May 3, 2012. So, she had filed a bail plea before the High Court, claiming her innocence in the case. The Ghaziabad court had ordered framing of charges of murder and destruction of evidence against the dentist couple.
Nupur has been in jail since her surrender before the Ghaziabad court on April 30.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered in her room in her parents' Noida flat on May 16, 2008. The body of the couple's help, Hemraj — who was initially a suspect in the case — was found a day later at the terrace.
