Reacting to the latter’s charge that Bachchan had appeared in the ad for monetary considerations, Singh stated that only “jobless actors” like Sinha may be in need of money. The SP leader, who is a close friend of Bachchan, told newspersons that the star had not charged anything for the advertisements which were circulated after approval from the Election Commission.
Singh said Sinha should have respect for other members of his film fraternity and desist from making such “frivolous” remarks. If he had any objections to the ad campaign , the proper forum to raise them was the Election Commission, the SP leader asserted.
Sinha had questioned the claims in the campaign that there were fewer crimes in UP asking how Bachchan could say such a thing even after the serial killings in Nithari.
