Ambani plea to go to 2G bench

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said a special bench hearing the 2G scam would hear Reliance Telecom and Shahid Balwa’s plea challenging the CBI court’s order to summon new prosecution witnesses including Reliance group chairman Anil Ambani and his wife Tina.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said a special bench hearing the 2G scam would hear Reliance Telecom and Shahid Balwa’s plea challenging the CBI court’s order to summon new prosecution witnesses including Reliance group chairman Anil Ambani and his wife Tina.

The SC bench comprising Justice GS Singhvi and Justice V Gopal Gowda said. “Let the matter be listed before the bench seized of the 2G matter”. The Ambanis were made witnesses by the CBI in the 2G spectrum case.

Meanwhile, Ambani has told the CBI questions on shell firms allegedly related to his company can be “best answered” by his colleagues as he has “full faith” in them. He also claimed Tatas had “funded” Unitech’s applications and fee for grant of 2G spectrum licences.
