Controversial arms dealer Abhishek Verma, who is lodged in Tihar jail, on Wednesday registered a complaint in the court saying he had been threatened by his fellow inmates and received extortion threats. HT reports.

Controversial arms dealer Abhishek Verma, who is lodged in Tihar jail, on Wednesday registered a complaint in the court saying he had been threatened by his fellow inmates and received extortion threats.

Verma made the allegations in his plea for continuation of a separate jail van before chief metropolitan magistrate Vidya Prakash.

The judge has ordered police to submit a detailed report against the complaint. Verma and his Romanian wife Anca Maria Neascu are in the jail since June 2012.

The CBI had chargesheet the couple and their company, Ganton India Pvt Ltd, and a former Wing Commander of Indian Air Force for allegedly possessing secret defence documents and supplying them to foreign nationals in violation of the Official Secrets Act.

He sought directions to the jail authorities for continuation of separate jail van for transportation from and hospital visits.
