“It would have been better if the report about the army had not been published. It has exposed the lack of trust between the government and the army...,” Advani told reporters in Mumbai, during a function to mark the BJP’s 32nd foundation day.

“Army is an institution that is trusted and respected by people. So it was good that both the government and the army said it’d have been good if this (story) had not happened.” He reiterated that nothing should be done to lower the army’s image. Advani’s statement came hours after he had posted a blog terming The Indian Express report as “alarming” and highlighting the trust deficit between government and the army.
