Australian found dead in Delhi hotel; cops rule out foul play

An Australian was on Sunday found dead in a hotel in Central Delhi.

According to the police, the deceased, who has been identified as Robert Michel (57), had checked in around 1.30 am in 'Yes Sir' hotel in Paharganj.

They said questioning of the hotel staff revealed that the victim was heard snoring till 11.30 am. "But by evening when there was neither response from his room nor to the knocks by the staff at the door, the hotel management grew suspicious.
The door was broken and he was found dead in the room," a police official said.

The body has been sent to a hospital for post-mortem and the police has ruled out any foul play in the case.
