A shower and other bathroom fittings were stolen Thursday from a Rajya Sabha member's house in New Delhi, police said on Sunday.

"The incident came to light on Thursday afternoon when Shahbuddin Haidar, an aide to Janata Dal's (United) Rajya Sabha MP Ejaz Ali, noticed that bathroom fittings, including three taps and a bathroom shower, were missing from the parliamentarian's 16-D Ferozshah Road residence," a senior police officer said.

Haidar then complained to the police about the theft.

"I had gone for some work around 1:30 on Thursday afternoon and returned around 2:30. After that when I went to bathroom, I noticed that three taps and the shower were missing," Haidar told IANS.

The MP was in Bihar when the theft took place, the police officer added.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
