With teachers bunking classes in schools, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided that teachers will have to sign in their attendance three times a day to get their salaries.

It has cleared a proposal to install fingerprint based attendance solution (FBAS) that will keep a tab on the absconding teachers.

A teacher will have to mark their attendance three times a day at different intervals to register his/her attendance which means that more teachers will have to stay back and finish their shifts.

The first marking will be done at the time of reaching the school, the second in the middle of the shift and the last marking will be done at the time of leaving the school.

The system will be valid for all other employees working in its 1, 729 schools and 44 municipal-aided schools. The FBAS will be integrated with the e-governance system of the MCD.
