Eyeing the non-Jat vote base in Haryana, the BJP has tied up with late chief minister Bhajan Lal's son Kuldeep Bishnoi-led Haryana Janhit Congress. This comes ahead of the October 13 by-election for the Hisar Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant following the death of Bhajan Lal in June last year.

Bishnoi, who is a MLA, will contest the seat with the help of the BJP. BJP chief Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj will announce the tie-up formally on Saturday.
Bishnoi was suspended from the Congress in 2007. The BJP closed in on Bishnoi for a tie-up even as the Congress tried to woo him back into the fold.
