“I am mother of Salman. My son was born on February 9, 1992,” Ishrat Jahan, 38, told Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja.

Jahan, who appeared in the court on a notice, answered queries posed by the judge inquiring into the claim that Salman was a juvenile at the time of the incident and thus should be treated under milder provisions of the law.
