Bomb scare at Chanakya cinema in Delhi

A cinema hall located in the heart of the capital was on Friday evacuated after an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb had been planted in the complex.

A cinema hall located in the heart of the capital was on Friday evacuated after an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb had been planted in the complex.

Bomb-disposal squads of the Delhi Police swung into action immediately after the call about explosives in Chanakya theatre in the high-security Chanakyapuri locality.

The call was received at around 4.30 pm, police said.

Bomb squads and sniffer dogs are scouring the complex and it is not immediately known whether it was a hoax call.
