Build metro bridge in six months: HC

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday told the Sheila Dikshit government to take lessons of “speedy completion” from the Army and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, and asked for an overbridge near the Jangpura Metro station to be completed in six months, a task that the authorities thought was possible only in 16 months.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday told the Sheila Dikshit government to take lessons of “speedy completion” from the Army and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, and asked for an overbridge near the Jangpura Metro station to be completed in six months, a task that the authorities thought was possible only in 16 months.

“Learn the skill of speedy construction of foot-over bridges from the Army and the DMRC," the court told the Delhi government while hearing a PIL filed by the Jangpura resident welfare association.

A high court bench was referring to the time of two-three days the army had taken to build a bridge outside a Commonwealth Games venue after the one built by the PWD collapsed.
