Chairing a committee to review action taken for streamlining traffic management at her residence, Dikshit announced a set of new directions for the bus operators.

Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf, Delhi Transport Corp (DTC) chairman Anshu Prakash, several government officials and representatives of the Federation of Delhi Bus Operators attended the meeting.

"The chief minister has asked the operators to act on their assurance and execute the MoU in the coming week," a senior state government official told IANS.

Facing public ire in the wake of privately operated buses killing 98 people this year in road accidents, Dikshit had urged the public to maintain patience and remain cautious till new buses hit the city roads.

She said people should also adhere to traffic rules and contribute in managing traffic on the city roads.
