The south Delhi Police on Thursday night arrested a woman for allegedly running a prostitution racket from a posh south Delhi locality, HT reports.

This is not the first time Geeta Arora alias Sonu Punjaban has landed in police net. On August 30 last year she was arrested on similar charges.

The police arrested Punjaban with four sex workers and 10 pimps. They operated from different areas in Delhi as well as from other states.

According to police, Punjaban ran one of the biggest call girl rackets in the city. She supplied girls to hi-profile clients not only in the Capital but also in cities like Mumbai.

“Since she was used to a lavish lifestyle, she entered the business of flesh trade. Initially she started the trade alone but later she formed a group of aspiring models and actresses. She hired a large number of pimps for transportation and logistics. She used to source aspiring models and sex workers from different states. Even her clientele was from different states and mainly consisted of old and regular customers,” said a police officer.

Police also claimed that Punjaban is known to have close links to the underworld. “Her three husbands were all gangsters. She is the wife of slain gangster Hemant who was killed in a shootout in April 2006. Her other husbands Vijay and Deepak, Hemant’s elder brother, were also killed in shootouts,” said a senior police officer.
