"Notices have been sent to 21 companies. It includes big to medium size companies, including real estate companies," the official, who did not want to be named, said.

The source added that cases were limited to individuals and unlikely to create a large fallout. It also added that the agency is not currently considering widening its probe into bribery over loans to corporates.

Shares in real estate companies fell sharply on Friday on concerns more of these firms could be named in the probe.
