"There is no direct or circumstantial evidence to suggest murder. Most of the witnesses rebut the opinion of death caused due to electrocution in jail barrack," the CBI claimed in its report filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja.

The probe agency had registered a regular case on August 27, 2007, after a direction by the Delhi High Court on a petition of Bilkis Begum, alleging Mobin alias Momin (35), her husband, who was an undertrial prisoner in a murder case, was killed inside Tihar jail here on August 13, 2004.

Bilkis had alleged her husband was murdered following a conspiracy hatched amongst Noora, Hakimuddin and one Khalil, who were jail inmates, in connivance with the prison staff.

"During the entire investigation conducted so far, neither any evidence nor any allegation surfaced which may lead to conclusion that it was a case of homicide amounting or not amounting to murder," the CBI said, which had examined 68 witnesses during its probe.

The Board of doctors, which had conducted the post-mortem on the body of Mobin, had opined that his death was caused due to "combined result of shock and blunt force impact to head and genital organs."
