CBI sources said they are expecting a notification to be issued within two-three days by the Centre handing over probe into the death of Nigamananda to the agency.

The state government has already sent its request for a CBI probe to the Centre after coming under strong pressure from local saints who alleged foul play in the death of the Swami who was demanding shifting of stone crushers from Kumbh area.

Local religious leaders and the family of Nigamananda, who died on June 13 at a hospital in Dehra Dun, had alleged that he was poisoned and suspected the role of local mining mafia in his death.
