Natrajan joined the BEML board on December 1, 2002 as chairman and managing director. He has held many positions in the public and private sector before joining the BEML. So far he has not been named as an accused in the case but his role in the whole Tatra deal is under scanner.

The CBI has registered a case against the BEML, UK based businessman Ravinder Rishi and his company Tatra Sipox (UK) Limited in the procurement of heavy-duty Tarta turcks by the army since 1997. The army used to procure these trucks through the BEML.
