A teenager allegedly committed suicide at his residence in central Delhi on Tuesday, police said.

The incident was reported from Hauz Qazi this morning where the victim, Akash (18), was found hanging from the ceiling. He had dinner with his two brothers and went to sleep in his room Monday night.

"When his brother Ankur went to his room to wake him up around 7 am, he found the door bolted from inside. When he peeped through a hole in the door, Akash was not in his bed. Ankur then broke open the door and found Akash hanging," a senior police official said.

No suicide note was recovered and police are yet to ascertain why the class 10 student committed suicide.

Akash's father Madan Mohan is a Delhi government employee.
