CM gifts Delhi 50 more trauma ambulances

Dellhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit launched 50 CATS (Central Advanced Trauma Services) ambulances at the secretariat on Friday. With the launch, the number of such free service ambulances has gone up from 101 to 151.

Dellhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit launched 50 CATS (Central Advanced Trauma Services) ambulances at the secretariat on Friday. With the launch, the number of such free service ambulances has gone up from 101 to 151.

Though the government had promised 200 more ambulances this year, they could unveil just 50. "To make functioning of the ambulances smooth, the department has appointed 129 new paramedics and 177 drivers. Out of 151 ambulances, 21 are Advanced Life Supporting (ALS), 10 are Basic Life Supporting (BLS) and 121 are Patient Transporting Ambulances," said Delhi Health Minister Ashok Kumar Walia.
