Cong to abide by court verdict in Ayodhya title suit

"From the beginning, Congress has held that the issue should be settled amicably through dialogue. Now when the issue is in court, the party would abide by the court verdict," AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters here.

The Union government has made a strong appeal for communal harmony and peace ahead of the judgement in the title suit to be pronounced on September 24.

Asked about the appeal of the government to maintain equanimity and tranquillity in the aftermath of the judgement, Dwivedi said that it was the "responsibility of the government to take precautions" keeping all aspects in view.

Refusing to comment further on the issue, he said, "The court will take a view and we have to accept that".
