Many people want police to continue with the existing exercise for improvement of traffic management and project the ones who violate rules by drink driving, misusing red beacons etc. irrespective of their identities or social status.

HT had reported on the issue, ‘Police to limit their Facebook usage’, that appeared in the paper on October 21.

People have flooded the interactive page with views and comments after joint commissioner of police (traffic) Satyendra Garg had posted on Saturday that “We respect the view of the Hon'ble high court and we will follow the observations in letter and spirit... However, let people continue to upload traffic related issues on Facebook page and we will effect improvement in traffic scene.”

Aditya Kapoor, a Facebook user, viewed: “feel that when you publish details of violators on Facebook, it helps the cause of improving the traffic scene. People get more responsible with the fear that their details might get published here. Anyhow, you have done a great job so far and we will make sure that the good work will continue.”
