Alok Kumar, a Jhunjhunu resident who has studied till the intermediate level of the Chartered Accountancy course, told Laxmi Naryana Meena (arrested), a local politician and former bank employee, that he could help in ‘arranging PAN cards’ as well as caste certificates and residence proofs of several Jhunjhunu residents to apply in the housing scheme.

“We reached Kumar with the help of a courier company. The courier boys informed us that Kumar’s company had dispatched several PAN cards to Delhi through their agency. During Kumar’s interrogation we found that most of them were prepared in the month of August and September last year,” said SBK Singh, additional CP (EOW).

Meanwhile police interrogated Manish Kumar, the Paschim Vihar based CA who had helped Deepak Kumar, the whistleblower (arrested) and Suresh Kumar Meena to arrange the loans for over 2000 applicants.

“It was Deepak who introduced Manish to Meena. We called Manish for interrogation after giving him a notice. We want to know at what level he was involved,” said Singh.

However, the police are yet to get any complaint from Bulandshahr in UP.

The EOW team was still looking for complainants at Bulandhshahr against ML Gautam, the retired DDA official who had used their information to corner 40 flats under the Schedule Caste (SC) category. “Till now, we have not got any complaints from UP. Our team was trying to locate them,” said Singh.

Meena in Delhi

Accused Laxmi Narayan Meena, who was the first person to have been arrested in the case, will be produced in a Delhi court on Sunday.

Forensic report lilely this week

Delhi Police said that they would be able to ascertain whether the DDA draw was rigged or not, this week as they were hopeful of getting the results from Hyderabad.
