Defence, N-energy ties strengthened
India on Friday firmed up plans to expand ties with Russia, affirming continued cooperation in defence and nuclear energy sectors with its strategic partner.

India on Friday firmed up plans to expand ties with Russia, affirming continued cooperation in defence and nuclear energy sectors with its strategic partner.
Besides agreement on nuclear reactors, an MoU for cooperation in Russia’s satellite navigation system was also agreed upon.
India and Russia signed a contract worth $2.3 billion (Rs 10,485 crore) for the transfer of aircraft carrier Gorshkov to the Indian Navy. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation in hydrocarbons.
