Delhi: dry Sunday after soaked Saturday

Delhi received no rain on Sunday despite the Met office forecasting of a wet weekend. The weather though remained partly cloudy the whole day.

The weatherman had forecast a wet weekend after Saturday’s record downpour of 123.4mm — third highest in the last 10 years and the highest in four years.“A thunderstorm came very close to the north Delhi border. It slightly escaped Delhi. However, one or two more wet spells are expected on Monday,” a Met department official said.The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 33.8 degrees and the minimum temperature was 23 degrees.

According to the weatherman, it will be cloudy on Monday. “Light rain/thundershowers may occur in some areas and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 32 and 25 degrees, respectively.”
