The capital received a total of 22 mm of rainfall overnight, the Met office said.
While the maximum temperature was three degrees below normal at 30.5 degrees Celsius, the minimum was one degree below normal at 17 degrees.
The weatherman predicted more rain accompanied by one or two spells of thundershowers in the next 24 hours adding that the sky would remain overcast over the weekend.
The change in weather from hot and dry conditions to cloudy skies and a drop in temperature was the result of a low pressure area over nearby Rajasthan, a Met official said.
