A 29-year-old woman has accused a Nigerian citizen of rape on the pretext of marriage, police said on Thursday.

Police said that the woman used to live with the accused at a rented apartmentin west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area.

The woman told police the two had met at Pune and later shifted to Delhi around seven months ago. When the woman went home to Tamil Nadu recently, she alleged that the accused stopped taking her calls and once she returned he allegedly refused to marry her.

A case under relevant IPC sections has been registered and the matter is being investigated, police said said.
