Dengue on decline in Delhi with fall in temperature

Dengue appears to be on decline in the capital as temperature fell to below normal levels with the city reporting 27 cases today.

Dengue appears to be on decline in the capital as temperature fell to below normal levels with the city reporting 27 cases on Monday.

In the past few days, the number of cases daily was in thirties.

With 27 fresh cases, the total cases have risen to 1980, out of which 17 originated from outside the capital.

All the cases were reported from East, South and North Delhi Corporation areas.

So far, four persons have died in New Delhi due to dengue in the capital.

South Delhi Municipal Corporation reported the maximum of 773 cases, while 631 cases were detected from North Delhi Municipal Corporation area and 499 from East Delhi Municipal Corporation region.

Other cases were reported from NDMC and Delhi cantonment areas.

Last year, 976 cases were reported and five deaths took place while in 2010, a total of 5,994 dengue cases and eight deaths were recorded in the capital.
