DLF City residents likely to get relief from power cuts

With the realty major DLF and the state electricity department agreeing to share the expense for upgrading power infrastructure in DLF City, residents can get relief from frequent power cuts this summer.

The electricity department with the help of the developer will set up 62 extra supply units or sub-stations by the end of next month.

These units will be developed at an investment of R20 crore. “Of this, DLF will give R15 crore, while Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) will bear equipment cost of R5crore,” said Subhash Deswal, superintending engineer, DHBVN.

Presently, DLF City has 120 sub-stations. A DLF official said, "With the addition of 62 new stations, the number will rise to 182. The order for transformers has been placed and we are likely to receive them any time."

The first phase of ‘Power Distribution Augmentation Plan’ worth R8 crore is expected to be completed by April end. Every colony of DLF City from phase 1 to 4 is likely to have 15 additional sub-stations.

The first phase will include wiring, laying of cables and erection of poles.

The DHBVN and DLF had agreed to share the expense of infrastructure development on 25:75 ratio.
