The full Board of DMRC, which includes representatives from the Urban Development Ministry and Delhi Government, also asked the Metro to strengthen the safety apparatus and take further action in connection with the two derailments that took place within a month.

DMRC is also understood to have placed its in-house report on the August 12 train derailment, which was caused due to a manual error before the Board Meeting, which was chaired by Urban Development Secretary M Ramachandran.

"The Board took note of the repeated derailment in Metro and also heard the view point of the DMRC management. The Board advised the Metro to take pro-active measures so that as far as possible these kind of mishaps are not repeated," DMRC sources told PTI.

Except Rakesh Chopra, Member (Engineering), Railway Board, all other nine members attended the board meeting.
