Doctors plan to wind up OPDs before match
The frenzy of India-Pakistan cricket match has hit city's doctors as well with many trying to keep their out patient department (OPD) appointments lighter for the second half on Wednesday.
The frenzy of India-Pakistan cricket match has hit city's doctors as well with many trying to keep their out patient department (OPD) appointments lighter for the second half on Wednesday.
"I have made a conscious attempt to keep myself free in the second half. And I am not the only one in the hospital, there are many others who want to wind up early," said Dr Suranjeet Chatterjee, senior consultant, department of internal medicine, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.
Resident doctors at various government hospitals are also hoping to wind up their OPDs early.
"Indo-Pak match is always a big attraction for cricket lovers," said a senior resident doctor at AIIMS.
The patients are no different — some of them requested for their appointments to be rescheduled.
"We started getting requests for rescheduling of OPD appointments as soon as India qualified for the semi-finals with Pakistan. More than 35 people have already taken dates for another day," said Dr Rajiv Singhal, director, Fortis Escorts Hospital.
