Factory worker kills friend over Rs 100

According to police, the victim was stabbed several times by his friend Rajesh Bansal alias Mintu, 46, who works in a private factory. The accused has been arrested. The incident took place around 9.30 pm and the victim has been identified as Deepak Vaidhya, a resident of Sector 7, Rohini.

A senior police officer said that Vaidhya had lost Rs 100 to Bansal in gambling and had promised to repay the money in a day or two.

"On Thursday night, the two bumped into each other in Sector 7 when Vaidhya was going home after work. Bansal asked for his money and an argument broke out between them when Vaidhya refused to pay the money. Their argument turned into an ugly fight during which Bansal attacked him with a knife. Vaidhya collapsed on the ground after which the accused fled," said the senior officer.

Vaidhya was found in a pool of blood by a passerby who immediately made a call to the police control room. The police rushed Vaidhya to Baba Saheb Ambedkar hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

“Bansal was detained after it was established that he was last seen with Vaidhya,” the officer added.
