FIR against 50 villagers for attacking Delhi cops

Haryana Police have registered an FIR against 50 people for attacking a contingent of Delhi police, which had on Monday gone to a Palwal village to arrest a criminal named Salli.

A team of Delhi police are still camping in Hathin to arrest the hardened criminal, who is believed to be hiding in Guraksar village under Hathin police station in Palwal district.

" On the complaint of ACP Nangloi Raj Kumar, we have registered a case against 50 villagers who indulged in violence and attacked Delhi police personnel on Monday," SHO Hathin Abbas Khan said.

"Of these 50 accused, 19 people, including the criminal's mother, have been named in the FIR. But till now no arrests have been made," the SHO said.

In Monday's attack, villagers had pelted stones at policemen and also resorted to firing in order to help Salli evade arrest. Some Delhi cops were injured in the attack.

Meanwhile, the police have intensified their search for the gangster in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
