Fire at ITO, seven rescued

Seven labourers on Friday sustained injuries when a fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building near I P Bhavan at ITO in central Delhi, a fire official said today.

Seven labourers on Friday sustained injuries when a fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building near I P Bhavan at ITO in central Delhi, a fire official said on Friday.

A fire department official said: "We received a call at around 11:45 am about a fire in the Drum-Shaped Building at ITO."

"We have rescued seven people till now," the official added.

Sixteen fire tenders were rushed to douse the flames and the labourers were rescued, fire officials said, adding they received minor injuries.

The blaze has been brought under control. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
