The relief, however, could well be short lived.

The met department has forecast a second spell of very dense fog at the Delhi airport in the days to come.

The airport is expected to witness flight delays due to fog from January 13 to 15.

“We are expecting a spell of dense fog at the airport because the western disturbance has become very active and is approaching the city,” said R.K. Jenamani, director in charge of the IGIA met unit.

The rain-bearing system will increase the moisture content in the atmosphere that helps in fog formation.

The weather could get cloudy by Tuesday evening. Chances of a drizzle or rain cannot be ruled out.

“There will be no fog tomorrow (Tuesday) but from January 13, fog is expected. The fog is expected to be more dense from the morning of January 14,” he said.

Wind, however, will be a deciding factor in the airport witnessing fog in the middle of this week.
