A 25-year-old man held two women and two minor girls hostage in their own car and dumped them one by one in north Delhi's Rohini area on Saturday night.

The incident took place when the family had gone to purchase medicines and had parked their car outside Bhagwati Hospital.
The complainant, Pooja, told the police that she along with her husband, mother-in-law and two daughters (seven and two years old) had gone to Bhagwati Hospital in their black Santro car. "When her husband went inside, a man came and sat on the driver's seat of the car. He held them hostage at gun point but Pooja managed to escape," a senior police officer said.
The accused managed to abduct Pooja's mother-in-law Shakuntla and her two daughters in their car.
The carjacker left Shakuntla and the elder daughter of the complainant at Sai Baba Chowk, Rohini. The accused even made a ransom call but later the younger daughter was also traced at Rithala Metro Station.
Over 100 policemen were alerted and the car was spotted at Sharma Enclave area. A constable broke the glass of the car with a stick and also fired to puncture its tyres. But the accused still managed to escape.
Later, police recovered the car at Indra Enclave. Police managed to arrest the accused —Gulshan— on Sunday night.
